Where is the Museum?

The Museum is in Gloucester Court Mews, High Street, Witney: see Visiting us for a map and information on parking.

When is it open?

The Museum is open from 18th April to 24th October at the following times:

·  Wednesday to Saturday: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

·  Sunday: 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

What is there to see?

On the ground floor there are displays relating to the history of Witney and the surrounding area. Upstairs there's an art gallery (the Bartlett-Taylor Gallery) for temporary exhibitions of arts and crafts, and a reconstruction of a 1950s kitchen.

Family history and house history

The Museum has large collections of archives and photographs which may be of help to you if you're researching your family tree or trying to find out more about the history of your house. please contact the archivist if you'd like advice on these topics.

About the Museum

The Witney & District Museum was set up in 1996. it is an independent museum run entirely by volunteers. It is a fully registered Museum [No:1773] and is a  registered charity [no.1006722].
