The Museum and the National Curriculum

The Museum provides a selection of displays and information material for children to use in Key Stages 1, 2, 3

School visits

The Museum welcomes visits from schools. Visits are free of charge, including an exploratory visit by the teacher or group leader prior to the pupils’ visit.

Space is very restricted however and we can only accommodate small groups of 15 or less accompanied by the accredited staff.

We do not have an education room and suggest the teacher should prepare a worksheet before the actual visit.

Date and time may be booked provisionally by telephone, but must be confirmed in writing before the visit.

Outreach work

Occasionally speakers will attend local schools taking “hands-on” materials
